Fitzston House - Offices

Fitzston House

Fitzston House is an elegant two-storey building in a Caribbean Georgian style that conveys the stability and tradition for which this company is known.

When Fitzwilliam Stone & Alcazar attorneys-at law outgrew their previous home in the city, we were engaged to design a new office building for them. Externally, it is finished with a simple palette of materials; White painted walls with coral stone accents and feature bands around grey powder coated aluminum windows & doors. The building features a double height coral stone entrance porch and atrium with aluminium curtain walling. Inside the atrium, first floor gallery offices overlook the reception and waiting area creating an open welcoming feel as clients arrive. The custom made reception desk is finished with coral stone, stainless steel and travertine countertops. Physical models were used to convey the design for the exterior and double height reception at an early stage.

Internally we have used cedar & stainless steel to compliment the eco-friendly carpet tiles and simple white walls. Cedar is used for doors, window sill boards, stair treads and handrails while stainless steel is used for door hardware and the balustrade in the entrance atrium. Venetian blinds in a complimentary wood finish provide control of sun & glare at windows. The new building also incorporates plenty of designated filing storage; a Fire proof Vault offers secure storage for important documents while the rolling filing system specified for the Archives maximizes the use of space by reducing excessive circulation space. Fitzston House was completed on budget and within a very tight timeframe in 2003.
